Rescuing a Senior Dog Who was Chained on the Roof for Two Years

The heartbreaking story of a senior dog who was chained on a rooftop for over two years finally came to light when a concerned neighbor filed a complaint with the Environmental Protection office of Mexico. The poor dogs had incredibly matted fur and were in a state of despair from being trapped on the roof for so long.

Thanks to the intervention of the shelter owner, Sylvia, the dogs were rescued, shaved, and given a bath. Terry, estimated to be around seven years old, was thrilled to be with Sylvia and was later adopted by a loving family in Canada.

Despite Terry’s charming personality, he had a hard time finding a forever home. It took almost seven months of waiting before Lee and Danny from West Coast Paws fell in love with him and adopted him.

A team of volunteers flew Terry and three other dogs from Mexico City to Seattle, and then onto Canada, where he began his new life as Teddy with his new parents. Teddy quickly adjusted to his new home and became a playful, outgoing, and affectionate member of his family.

Teddy’s story is a testament to the resilience of dogs and the power of love and compassion. The volunteers, shelter staff, and Teddy’s new family are grateful for the opportunity to give him a second chance at life and to share their love with him.
